Voices of Connection Guest Curator: Melissa Bybee

Melissa Bybee, an alto with Voices of Ascension and member of the board of directors since January 2021, has been an active participant in New York City’s professional choral scene since she was a graduate student at The Manhattan School of Music. From 2011-2016, she was also a member of C4, the Choral Composer Conductor Collective, a unique chorus that performs choral music written in the past 25 years and serves as an ongoing workshop/recital chorus for the composers and conductors who form the core of the group. During her years with C4, Melissa performed in concert with the ensemble and served as Chair of C4’s Fundraising Committee, where she organized annual appeals and wrote grants. In addition to her musical interests, Melissa is a Vice President in Morgan Stanley's Company Law group, where she is a subject matter expert in certain securities laws pertaining to executive and director compensation, and she was recently elected President of Morgan Stanley Midtown’s Best Toastmasters club. Melissa holds a Master of Music in voice from The Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor of Music in piano performance from Louisiana State University. In her spare time, she enjoys running, biking, swimming, drawing, and identifying trees.
