Voices of Connection: 10/30 English Renaissance
Once attributed to John Redford, this is one of the most often performed anthems from the English Renaissance. It’s easy to understand why: it’s not difficult to sing, and the work is genuinely inspired. It has appealing melodies which perfectly express each phrase of text, each section flows perfectly to the next, and the piece is concise, without one extra note. We recorded this piece with a very small group of singers and the microphones perfectly placed, allowing one to understand virtually every word they sing.
