Voices of Connection: 05/06 A mention in the New York Times
We're thrilled that our recording of Randall Thompson's "Alleluia" was selected by New York Times Chief Classical Music Critic Anthony Tommasini for the feature "5 Minutes That Will Make You Love Choral Music." Tommasini writes, "For the opening exercises of the first summer of the Berkshire Music Center at Tanglewood, in 1940, the Boston Symphony conductor Serge Koussevitsky commissioned the American composer Randall Thompson to write a choral piece... This richly textured, glowing, wistful and subdued piece has been performed at every Tanglewood opening since, and has also become a favorite for church services, concerts and commencement exercises. Rightly so." Read the complete Times article here.
