Voices of Connection: 11/10 Bach: “Domine Deus" and “Qui tollis” from Mass in B Minor
Bach chooses a chamber music style for the movement “Domine Deus”, an absolutely charming and radiant duet for soprano and tenor soloists with flute solo. This leads directly into an expressive Venetian-style chorus (“Qui tollis”), where Bach superimposes above the sustained choral lines the beautiful embroideries of two flutes.
