Voices of Connection: 10/05 Georgian Chorus!

Today we bring you some beautiful folk music from the country of Georgia. Tsintskaro is a Georgian folk song. Its title is the name of a village in the Kartli region, which translates as "at the spring water". The song is usually performed by a male vocalist and choir. It is performed here by Ensemble Basiani, which was created in 2000, under the blessing of his Holiness and Beatitude, Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia, Ilia II. In 2013 Basiani was conferred the status of State Ensemble of Georgian Folk Singing. It is composed of singers from different parts of Georgia. Most of its members have sung folk songs in different ensembles ever since childhood. There is so much beautiful choral singing going on all around the world!
