Voices of Connection: 08/29 A Very Rare Ave Maria

I don’t believe I have ever heard anyone else perform this piece! Perhaps the fact that it is long out of print is one reason. But it is so lovely, melodious, simple, never overstaying its welcome. Many of the French composers of the late 19th century wrote large numbers of choral works to be used in church services. And much of this music is decidedly second-rate. But Fauré was a very great composer, and even a simple piece such as this is truly beautiful.
