Voices of Connection: 06/03 Guest Chorus Today

We had planned another piece for today, but simply couldn’t carry on in our usual manner in the midst of this heartbreaking time of national distress. The recent killing of George Floyd, one in an endless line of African Americans killed over decades - centuries, makes us all sad to the depths of our souls that our country can’t seem to make any steps forward in curing racism. So, today we feature a guest chorus: one of the magnificent recordings of the late Moses Hogan. This lovely, humble genius made the most important arrangements of Spirituals in this period of history, and he created one of the greatest professional choruses to perform them. So, here today is Moses Hogan conducting The Moses Hogan Singers in his arrangement of Steal Away. I think you will find it profoundly moving.
