Voices of Connection: 08/21 Alleluia!

One of the most famous of all American choral compositions, this piece was written in 1940 for the opening ceremonies of the Berkshire Music Center at Tanglewood. Instead of setting a text, Thompson takes us on an abstract musical journey where, through the skillful use of harmony and many different choral textures, we experience a whole series of emotions and musical landscapes. – Dennis Keene
