Voices of Connection: 05/23 Vivaldi: Magnificat

This came from our last “pre-COVID” live concert back in January. Seems like a lifetime ago! I love Vivaldi and the Venetian color his music has. This Magnificat is seldom performed, but I think it is one of his finest pieces. What a marvelous parade of delightful, varied, short movements. Each one has such a distinct, sharp musical profile – and then it’s done. We were lucky to have some wonderful soloists! They are listed on the YouTube page. We’ll play other pieces from that Baroque concert in the coming days.
