Voices of Connection: 04/03 Randall Thompson: Alleluia

One of the most famous of all American choral compositions, this piece was written in 1940 for the opening ceremonies of the Berkshire Music Center at Tanglewood. Instead of setting a text, Thompson takes us on an abstract musical journey where, through the skillful use of harmony and many different choral textures, we experience a whole series of emotions and musical landscapes.
