Voices of Connection: 09/17 Two Catalan Rarities!

Enric Morera (1865-1942), one of the most important Catalan Nationalist composers, produced some 800 works, notably operas, symphonic and other instrumental compositions. Morera is perhaps best known today for his choral arrangements of Catalan folk-songs, such as El Rossinyol, written for men’s chorus. In the tender and mystical Ave Maria Morera sets the soprano solo against a luminous background of women’s voices.

This beautiful music is from our Grammy-nominated Song of the Stars recording which will be featured in one of this season's Music With the Maestro events. I hope you'll join me for an in-depth look at these finest works of Spanish Choral Music. Find out more here. – Dennis Keene
