Voices of Connection: 08/25 Glorious Marvis Martin
How happy I am to celebrate a dear friend, the great American soprano, Marvis Martin. She first sang with Voices in 1997 in Handel’s Messiah, and performed with us many, many times. Any Marvis Martin performance is a special occasion, not only because of that glorious instrument she possesses, but also because she sings with so much heart. Sadly, none of her performances with us were ever recorded. But here she is with the wonderful, famous choir from St. Olaf College in Minnesota. Their conductor, also a friend of mine, is one of the very best in the business, Anton Armstrong. What beautiful music making this is!
